The company operates both scheduled and chartered bus services. Our largest customer groups are international travelers, but we also serve local schools and provide transportation for short and long distances — carrying people from near and far.
Our fleet consists of 15–50 seat buses and taxis. We have depots in Kolari and Ylläs, and our taxi base is located in Äkäslompolo. The office and maintenance facilities are also situated in Kolari.
Kolari railway station and Kittilä Airport are the most important traffic “hubs” for our operations, connecting us to the Ylläs region and the world beyond.
We have around seven full-time employees and about 30 seasonal staff.
Aate Artturi Satokangas began truck transport operations in 1949.
In 1951, taxi operations were added, followed by bus transport in 1967.
In 1996, the company’s ownership passed to his son Juhani Satakangas, who continued to expand into travel and tourism.
In 1997, operations extended from Kolari to Ylläs, marking the start of YLLÄS EXPRESS.
